We have formed an ongoing partnership with Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian. The Foundation has pledged a funding commitment to the Hospital’s Wintergarden Programming. The Wintergarden Programming gives children receiving care at the Hospital a momentary diversion from illness and treatment through fun, interactive entertainment, performances, special guest appearances, and celebrations. Research has shown that exposure to, and participation in, arts and cultural activities provides children a much-needed platform for self-expression and exploration and helps to boost self-esteem and aid in a young patient’s healing process. We believe these activities are critical to the overall health and well-being of children and help promote a nurturing, caring environment for young patients and their families, which is central to the Hospital’s mission.
On June 16, 2011, New York-Presbyterian Hospital held a celebration reception to honor the Marisa Poster Kids 4 Kids Foundation in recognition of its ongoing commitment to Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. The generous support of the community allowed the foundation to meet its fundraising goal to support Wintergarden Programming at the Hospital.
Our focus is providing children with access to a balanced diet and the nourishment they require. We provide nutritious packaged food, food bars, and supplements for breakfast and lunch to students at a time when school funding cuts have eliminated these programs.
We are pleased to partner with F•E•G•S Health and Human Services System for delivery of these food products. For almost three-quarters of a century, F•E•G•S has been meeting the needs of the Jewish and broader community through a diverse network of high quality, cost-efficient health and human services that help each person achieve greater independence at work, at home, at school, and in the community and meet the ever-changing needs of business and our society.
Through the efforts of our volunteers and thanks to generous corporate donors, we provide children in need with school supplies as they enter the school year. Properly supplied, children are able to concentrate on learning, rather than being forced to improvise and manage without what they need to achieve their full success.
